Bank material requests

Everyday, every 10 minutes (a bit of an exageration) someone is asking how to get things from the bank .. sometimes the same people who have already asked. I am making this post so I can make a macro that says check the forums

THE BELOW MENTIONED ITEMS ARE ALL COLLECTED DURING THE RAIDS AND SENT TO HOFBANK

Random drops- all random drop blues and greens with fire or nature resistance are going to be picked up by the raid leader and sent to hofbank so they can end up in the hands of those most needy and best suited.

AQ items:
Scarabs & idols- There are 3 quests that you can pick up at cenarion hold for gear obtained by turning in various items from AQ, I recommend you pick these quests up. When oyu have the correct rep, and the boss drops that you need for a quest send an in game mail to hofbank with a subject along the lines of "request". In the mail state that you have obtained the required rep and boss drops for and item, stating what item would also be helpful, and then state what scarabs and idols you need as well as the QTY. I check the bank daily, when I get the request I will mail out the scarabs/idols.
Small and large obsidian shards- These are used to craft gear. Every once in a while I will have these used to make items and then have the items sent to people I feel need it. If for some reason you would like to make a request for a reasonable amount of SMALL obsidian shards send the request to hofbank, stating what you are making, what your using it for, and how many you need. Dont bother requesting large obsidian shards .... we only have aquired a coupel so far and they are not going to be given out upon request at this time.

ZQ items:
Bloodvine- When we get more people with recipes that use these we will start crafting more items with it. The recipes that I want them used for are going to be for items that give nature resistance. Depending on how many we currently have in the bank you might be able ot get 1 or 2 upon request, send a request to hofbank including what your making, what the item will be used for, and how many bloodvine you need.

MC items:
Sulfuron ignots- dont bother requesting these
Essence of fire- If you would like to request these send a request via ingame mail to hofbank stating what your making, what the item will be used for, and how many you need
Essence of earth- If you would like to request these send a request via ingame mail to hofbank stating what your making, what the item will be used for, and how many you need
Blood of the mountain- We have not aquired enough of these to be giving them out upon request.
Fiery/ Lava cores/ Core leather- Currently these are being used primarily for those in melee range (warriors, rogues, palladins). The melee takes the largest amount of fire damage and is dieing the fastest, in an effort to be able to complete the FR encounters with a bit more ease the melee is getting pumped up with FR. I am currently making a census of FR for melee and having gear crafted based off the census. If you would like to request cores/leather send a request via ingame mail to hofbank stating what you are making, what your current FR is, and how many of each core/ leathers you need. Most requests probably will not be fulfilled at this time due to low QTY's of cores, but dont let that stop you from requesting. If you have already received core/leathers .... dont bother requesting more for a while
Dark iron- Same deal as the cores

What if you are are a miner and collect a fairly decent quantity of Dark Iron Ore/Blood of the Mountain outside of MC (such as in Burning Steppes/BRD) and you send them to the HoFbank. Anything special besides a thanks?

at this point in time there is no "reward" for donations other than knowing you are helping your guild progress
but you wont get just a thanks, you could also get a /hug

Silent Affliction uses an interesting system.

You turn in mats needed by the guild and you may get mats that are generated by raiding.
Example: Turn in Gromsblood to make Flask of the Titans for tanks and, at some guild-leader determined rate, you can get Fiery Cores or guild-crafted FR epics.

SA has just about turned it into a parallel auction house and it's ripe to be abused (I don't plan to abuse it). So your mileage may vary...

Personally I think its kind of a cool system. It allows players who aren't able to always attend raids to get some of the items from raiding while still helping the raid grow stronger (such as in the case of flasks, or Dark Iron for armor/TB rep). I know myself that I can't always make a raid, but I can log on and mine myself brainless because it doesn't require a committment, and then (in theory) exchange my goods for the goods acquired in raiding so that when I do raid i'm not light years behind.

Your reward is a fire pot here and there, and other happy guildies. Happy guildies = Happy raiders. Happy Raiders = More downed bosses. More downed bosses = bigger loot! Well you get the picture.

In Ressurection they give you dkp for turning in these items so you can get dkp no just for raiding

Here's what I didn't like about SA's bank....

For normal give/take situations it seems to be great. Donate some mooncloth, ask for felcloth... use your farm dkp to get it. Great. Thanks.

Then you get down to needing a core to have some armor crafted. Depending on the demand, the "price" you pay could be astronomically high. I know when I needed cores I ended up just buying on the AH because SA's bank wanted too much farm dkp to get one. When you add up the cost of the mats you'd have to donate to earn enough dkp to get one, you'd be better off just selling your stuff at the AH and then buying what you need there instead of going to the guild bank.

The second thing is that the cores were already earned by the guild when they raided. So why charge for those? The scarabs, coins, etc from other raids didn't cost anything but the cores do. That will never make any sense to me.

To me, it's a nice concept but not always beneficial to the guildie that's working their butt off donating to get things they need with their "dkp".
